Why
should your pharmacist be board -certified in geriatrics?
An Institute of Medicine report has concluded, "The health care workforce in general receives very little geriatric training and is not prepared to deliver the best care to older patients." The pharmacist is a critical member of the health care team. How do you know if your pharmacist has training or expertise in the care of older adults?
The purpose of the Certified Geriatric Pharmacist credential is to identify those pharmacists who do have expertise and knowledge of drug therapy principles for older adults. Click here to locate a Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist near you.
