The Commission for Certification in
Geriatric Pharmacy (CCGP) and AstraZeneca proudly announce the
newly
established CCGP/AstraZeneca Excellence in Geriatric Pharmacy Practice
Award. The award is given annually to a Certified
Geriatric
Pharmacist who consistently exemplifies the vision and mission
of CCGP. AstraZeneca is a long-time supporter of CCGP's vision
and
mission and sponsorship of this award is further demonstration
of AstraZeneca's commitment to senior care.
The CCGP/AstraZeneca Excellence in
Geriatric Pharmacy Practice Award recognizes the Certified Geriatric
Pharmacist who fosters the principles of good pharmacy practice;
demonstrates excellence in geriatric patient care; and, promotes
the value and rigorous standards established by CCGP.
The award recipient, who will be honored
at the American Society of Consultant Pharmacist's 37th Annual Meeting
and Exhibition in San Francisco, California, will receive a specially
designed sculpture, and be recognized on a permanent plaque displayed
at CCGP Headquarters. In addition, AstraZeneca will donate $2,500
in honor of the award recipient to a school of pharmacy chosen by
the recipient.
The recipient for 2007 was Dr. Terrence O'Shea.
