The Application
for Certification or Recertification fee is $600 (USD). Fees may
be paid by check, money order, or credit card. CCGP does not offer
group discounts on the Application fees.
Application fees are
non-refundable. Exceptions to this policy will be determined by
the executive committee and appeals will be considered only on the
basis of documented hardships.
Candidates must
submit the appropriate fee with the application form. Returned checks
and/or declined credit card transactions will be subject to a $25
(USD) handling fee. You must send a certified check or money order
for the amount due, including the NSF fee, to CCGP to cover returned
check and/or declined credit card transactions.
The certification
period is five years.
To be eligible
for the Certification Examination in Geriatric Pharmacy, applicants
must currently be a licensed pharmacist and must have a minimum
of two years of experience as a licensed pharmacist. There are no
continuing education requirements for certification.
Recertification
is by examination or by successful completion of the Professional
Development Program for CGP Recertification. Under the Professional
Development Program for Recertification, candidates must successfully
complete 75 hours of American Council on Pharmaceutical Education
(ACPE) approved continuing education programs sponsored by the American
Society of Consultant Pharmacists. ASCP will use its award-winning
website, www.GeriatricPharmacyReview.com
and live workshops for delivery of the education programs.
Certified Geriatric
Pharmacist will also be required to pay a Certification Fee of $250
in order to maintain their 5 year certification. This fee supports
the operations of CCGP and will provide benefits such as a quarterly
newsletter, a published directory of certificants, and the right
to vote on, and participate in, leadership positions.
